What is Government Agency Information?
The Government Agency Information database contains more than 2,200 Federal, State and Local government agencies and organizations. It helps you find the answer to your questions and problems more quickly and easily than any other listing of its kind. While the Yellow Pages provides you with a telephone number, and other guides may give you the address, this database also provides you with an informative description of each agency/organization’s services. This feature will save you time and aggravation because you will know what the agency/organization does and does not handle before you contact them.

General Instructions

  • The search program is not case sensitive. You may type in upper or lower case.  You can use all lowercase characters, upper case characters or a combination of lowercase and uppercase.
  • The more data you enter the shorter your search results will be.
  • The less data you enter the more listings you will have available to browse through.
  • You must enter data in at least one search field.
  • You may combine search fields.

  • Enter the Government Agency name you are looking for.
  • You must enter a least 3 characters.
  • You may enter more than one word.

  • Enter the city you are looking for.
  • You must enter at least 2 characters.
  • You may enter more than one word.

Keyword(s)
  • All of the resources are categorized. Select one keyword  from the list of over 300 categories available.
  • The keyword is probably the easiest way to find what you are looking for.
  • You do not need to select a keyword
  • For example, you may be looking for information about Toy Safety. Whether it occurs to you to look under Toys or Product Safety, you will see a listing for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission under EACH keyword option. Of course there may be many other appropriate listings under these categories as well.
  • In some cases, you may select a keyword and be directed to another keyword containing the resource you need. For example, if you have a question regarding rental housing, you may select the keyword Tenants. However, all our listing on this topic are under the keyword landlords. The keyword Tenants will simply direct you to “see Landlords”, where the information you need is found.
